Do ethnic patients report longer lung cancer intervals than Anglo‐Australian patients?: Findings from a prospective, observational cohort study

چکیده
Objective Lung cancer patients from ethnic minorities have poorer outcomes than their Caucasian counterparts. We compared lung intervals between culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) Anglo-Australian to identify disparities. Methods This was a prospective, observational cohort study comprising patient survey reviews of patients' hospital general practice records. Across three states, 577 (407 170 CALD) were recruited records reviewed. The returned by 189 (135 54 patients, review completed practitioners (GPs) 99 (76 23 patients. Survival Cox regression analyses conducted. Results CALD had longer diagnostic interval [median 30 days, 95% confidence (CI) 26–34] (median 17, CI 14–20), p = 0.005, hazard ratio (HR) 1.32 (95% 1.09–1.60). difference persisted after relevant factors taken into consideration, adjusted HR 1.26 1.03–1.54, 0.022). also reported prehospital intervals; however, these differences not statistically significant. Conclusion Target interventions need be developed address disparity in interval.

متن کاملMonitoring EGFR T790M with plasma DNA from lung cancer patients in a prospective observational study
Use of plasma DNA to detect mutations has spread widely as a form of liquid biopsy. EGFR T790M has been observed in half of lung cancer patients who have acquired resistance to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKI). Effectiveness of monitoring T790M via plasma DNA during treatment with EGFR-TKI has not been established as an alternative to re-biopsy. This was a prospective multicenter obse...
